Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs

Our recent visit to the Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs facility in Williston, Florida was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we entered the property, we knew we were stepping into something special. The entrance itself set the tone, lined on both sides of the road are statues honoring past Guardian Angels dogs, each one representing a true hero who saved the life of their recipient. It’s a powerful and emotional tribute that immediately reflects the heart of this organization.
 

Inside the facility, we were met with an impressive level of professionalism, organization, and genuine compassion. Every detail, from the immaculate grounds to the welcoming staff, spoke volumes about the pride and commitment behind this mission. The team operates with one goal in mind: to change and save lives through the healing power of highly trained service dogs.
 

The operation is state-of-the-art. Guardian Angels even maintains a full-time on-site veterinary clinic equipped with the latest medical technology, ensuring each dog receives the highest standard of care. Their dedication doesn’t end once a dog is paired with a recipient, they continue to provide lifelong medical and behavioral support to every team, ensuring both the dog and the recipient thrive together.
 

We also had the opportunity to meet several of the trainers, and their passion was contagious. Each trainer we spoke with demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the dogs and the people they serve. Their expertise, patience, and compassion are what make these incredible partnerships possible.
 

We left the facility deeply moved and absolutely certain that we had chosen the right organization to support. Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs is truly a model of excellence, a place where hope, healing, and heroism come together in perfect harmony.

The proceeds and donations from the 2025 Shebango Dirts Classic totaled $12,931. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, runners, donors and attendees for making this years race a success.

The MLP Foundation has already donated $15,000 to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs and will be donating the rest of the funds necessary to provide a service dog to a veteran at no cost.  Your donations are still needed and are greatly appreciated.

At the Matthew Lawrence Perna Foundation, we believe every dollar should make a difference. Our board and volunteers serve entirely without compensation, no salaries, travel expenses, or meal costs are ever taken from donations. Less than five percent of all funds go toward essential administrative supplies, ensuring that the overwhelming majority of every contribution directly supports our mission and the causes we stand behind.
